If you're looking for a coach who truly cares, I can't recommend Cara Lancaster enough. From the moment you step into her space, you feel welcomed and understood. She listens deeply, guiding you on a powerful journey through your past to help you discover what you need to focus on for your future. It's not just about addressing the surface-level issues—she goes beyond, helping you heal both emotionally and mentally.

Her genuine compassion and expertise make her more than just a professional; she’s a partner in your healing process. If you're ready to take that step toward lasting change, your future Cara is the person who can guide you there. Don’t hesitate—it’s a decision that will transform your life. She helped me realize that I needed to trust myself that I had everything I need to take my big leap. To stop looking for the answers out there with someone or something else, to look inside. Don't turn around, know your surroundings, trust your gut and you will arrive where you want to be.

“Peter's insightful inquiry helped me be honest with myself about what was keeping me from pursuing the things I wanted to achieve. He helped me develop strategies to overcome limiting habits I had been struggling with for years. My coaching sessions with Peter have had a lasting impact because all the insights were earned through a kind of honest work that leads to a unique empowerment that I can’t help but continue to pursue.”

My life has generally been very busy but not necessarily in an organized manner. Working with you, Cara, has helped me bring more focus into my activity. Although I was never diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder, I have worked with a psychologist who specialized in treating patients with ADD. He required behavioral structure through use of the Franklin Planner system and following those guidelines helped me plan, perform, and maintain accountability, if only to myself. Cara, you have guided me back to purposeful planning and I have started journaling. This practice is, for me, a more concrete accounting than “to-do” lists on my phone or computer. I am also more conscious of what I need to do to reach goals, rather than setting goals without a roadmap for getting there. I am a quilter and tend to have several projects going simultaneously. I am now purposefully, and successfully staying with a single large project before picking up another.

Stress management has been a problem in my life for a very long time. Five months ago I had a stroke. I, fortunately, have had no lasting effects. The neurologist, however, told me that I must manage stress or I would be back with another stroke. Working with you has helped me bring practices into my life that are reducing my stress level, and I feel so much better! I think I’m a bit more patient with myself.

My experience working with you has been easy, delightful, and rewarding. You have a quiet way of correcting my erroneous practices (looking at calorie burn without acknowledging dietary consumption) and helping me to set sustainable practices to reach goals. I appreciate your guidance that never made me feel pressured, but actually has kept me towing the line.

Big achievement – keeping an eye on, and achieving that “8,000 steps” goal. I can see it slowly bringing the scale reading down. I think my best benefit and achievement is “becoming aware…” instead of mindless moving through my days.

Through this process I have personally been reminded that it is good to reevaluate lifestyle practices periodically. Having an outside set of ears has been a great benefit and I plan to take advantage of your coaching in the future.

I would recommend your coaching to my husband but he “knows everything” so I don’t put faith in his taking advantage.

When I began working with Cara, I was in the middle of a major life transition that felt overwhelming. I was going through a painful separation from my partner of 11 years and relocating from my beloved home in the country to start a new job in the city. I felt completely uprooted and in shock, but having Cara’s support during this difficult period made all the difference. Her strength, acceptance, and compassion gave me the space to access these qualities within myself.

I felt comfortable sharing things with her that I’d never been able to express to anyone else before. Her encouragement to be my authentic self and speak my personal truth was exactly what I needed. Cara’s coaching tools kept me accountable and helped me stay on track toward my goals, even when things felt uncertain. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a coach with the perfect blend of empathy and guidance to face life’s challenges with confidence.

“Working with you was instrumental in helping me figure out what I want from life, breaking big goals down into a series of small concrete achievable goals to help get me where I want to go, and in learning self-calming practices and self-encouragement strategies that can be used as tools to help me get unstuck from negative thought patterns.”

Before I started working with Cara, I had been working on losing weight again. I was not motivated to exercise like I should. After starting our sessions I learned about mindfulness and looking inside myself. By taking the time to reset and start the day quietly I find more gets accomplished. Cara has been easy to work with she has a way of challenging you to do things you didn’t think you could do.  For example, I was unsure of exercises because of a knee issue. By encouraging me to check out videos on you tube that would fit my needs. I have been able to incorporate an exercise program into my days. Cara is also very easy to talk with even with the age difference, she listens to what you are saying and helps to access what needs to change or continue for a healthier you.

By working with Cara I learned about mindfulness and what a great tool it can be. I also started exercising again which give me more energy throughout the day.

I definitely would recommend Cara to all the women in my life. She will give them the tools and encouragement to be the best they can for themselves first and then their families.

What was going on in your life before you started working with me, and how have our coaching sessions positively impacted your life and overall wellbeing?

o   SO much going on in my life!  I’ve been on a long journey, dealing with gender dysphoria, weight loss, divorce, and raising teenagers as a single mom, just to name a few.  It really felt good to voice a lot of those things without feeling judgement, but with feeling understanding and compassion.  I’m sure it helped a lot that we’ve known each other our whole lives.  But, the encouragement and accountability have helped me start to form some new habits that I’m already starting to see the benefit of.
How was your experience of working with me? What did you like most about our coaching relationship?

o   It really was a wonderful experience.  I’d say it wasn’t what I expected, except I’m not sure I knew what to expect.  I truly enjoyed how informal it felt, and never once felt like I was being patronized or preached to.

What benefits, results, or achievements did you gain from our coaching together?

o   I’m getting out and walking more, which my dog also appreciates, and paying more attention to getting my steps in during the day.  The progress on that is slow going, but still moving forward.  I’m also trying to take more of a positive approach to figuring out what I want and need in a partner, as that has been something I’ve been missing.  Overall, I feel like my overall outlook has improved.
What new insights and learning have you discovered through this process?

o   I’m not sure if they’re ‘new’ insights, as much as they are old ones that have been forgotten or neglected in recent years.

§  I AM worth the time.

§  I deserve to be happy.

§  I can do the hard things (I knew this, I just don’t remind myself enough)

§  Start small and build up
Who would you recommend my coaching to?   Specifically?  I’m not sure.  But I’m a huge proponent of coaching and therapy.  Too many people are determined they have to conquer everything on their own and need to realize that life is better when you have a team.  Whether that team consists of friends who are there for you, or if it includes an objective ‘outside’ party that is there to be your sounding wall and can be available to offer advice or encouragement, whichever is needed at the time.

I was in need of a reset on my journey for improved health. Having Cara suggest specific changes in my daily, weekly and monthly choices was very helpful.  Her positive support inspired me to work towards those beneficial goals.

I made inquiries into adding more guided physical therapy and exercise. By following her suggestions I have an improved outlook on my physical capabilities.

Cara is an asset to any person needing assistance and guidance in bettering yourself physically. She also helps make your day better with her kindness, patience, positive reinforcement and a great sense of humor.
